This course provides an overview of the concept of Loss, Trauma and Resilience. It will explore the various ways in which individuals can experience loss, trauma and resilience and how these concepts are interrelated. It will also discuss different strategies for managing loss, trauma and resilience in order to build a more resilient self. The course will provide an understanding of the different types of losses, traumas and resiliencies that people can experience as well as how to develop coping mechanisms to manage them. Finally, it will examine how these concepts can be applied in real-world situations in order to help individuals build a stronger sense of self-worth and resilience.
This course is part of the Accelerated Doctoral in Grief Counseling program at AITU The aim of this course is to further understand the psychological experience of loss, explore the dynamics of ambiguous loss, understand resilience and how to strengthen it therapeutically, and gain further knowledge on attachment and its relationship to grief work. It is a 6-hour semester course that should be completed within 6 weeks.
