The Graduation Dissertation Project for Doctor of Psychology in Grief Counseling. This course is designed to help you explore different theories and topics related to grief counseling, as well as develop skills in research, writing and analysis that will be essential for your dissertation project. Through this course, you will investigate the process of dealing with grief and trauma, analyze trends in current literature on the topic, and apply your findings to practical approaches used by professionals. You will be encouraged to think critically about topics related to grief counseling that you may have encountered during your studies as well as discover new information through research. By completing this course, you will gain a greater understanding of your chosen field of study and have a foundation upon which further exploration can be built.
This course is the final requirement for the Doctoral program in Grief Counseling. It will involve a research project that is comprehensive and targeted. The focus of the research will be chosen by the student with guidance from the faculty mentor. It is an 8-hour semester course that should be completed within 12 weeks.
