This course provides a comprehensive overview of international relationships in Islam, from the historical perspective to the contemporary practice. It will explore the different aspects of Muslim societies and their interactions with other nations and cultures, including religious diversity, economic integration, gender-based inequalities, political engagement, and social change. The course will also address how Muslims understand and attribute meaning to the broader global context in which they live. Additionally, it will cover topics such as human rights within Islamic societies and how they are affected by globalization. Finally, students will gain an appreciation of the complexities of international relationships in Islam today through case studies on topics such as migration and terrorism.
