Technology in Education is a course designed to prepare students to enter the field of education as teachers or administrators. Students will learn about the history and current state of technology in education, how to think critically about technology’s impact on education, and how to create and evaluate educational content using technology. This course includes a project-based component where students will work in teams to develop an educational product for use in their classrooms. The final grade for this course will be based on participation, written assignments, and a final exam.
This course is designed to enable educators to use technology to enhance instruction within and across content areas. Theoretical and practical aspects of technology integration will be discussed and evaluated. This is a 6 credit hour course and is allotted 6 weeks of time.
